SJCS was awarded a $25,000 Challenge Award from the Partnership for Excellence in Jewish Education (PEJE) for its Community Hub Program Initiative. Over the last 18 months, SJCS has transformed its North Seattle campus to serve the children and families of Seattle and its north suburbs. Read more here.

SJCS welcomes the SJCP, Seattle Jewish Cooperative Playschool, to our campus for weekly Thursday morning classes. This parent-toddler co-op is designed for kids aged 18-35 months and a parent or caregiver. For more information, contact seattlejewishcoop@gmail.com.

SJCS continues its partnership with the PJ Library this school year. We will host a Song- and Story-time event the second Friday of every month (except April)!

Elizabeth Siegal, our 4th grade General Studies teacher, will receive the Spitzer Young Leadership Award and Amee Sherer, our 3rd grade Judaic Studies teacher, will receive the Pamela Waechter Jewish Communal Professional Award! The awards will be formally presented by the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle on Wednesday, June 22nd at its annual meeting.

Stunning Results for SJCS in National Survey
During the 2008-09 school year, SJCS participated in the laregest survey of Jewish day school parents ever conducted. The Partnership for Excellence in Jewish Education (PEJE) and Measuring Success, LLC 6,500 parents in 36 schools to gather parent satisfaction data that would allow each school to create an action plan with measurable goals to further advance its mission. SJCS had the highest satisfaction levels of ALL schools in 13 areas surveyed and was number one in more categories than ANY of the 36 participating schools. Read More...
